In April 2008 a killer virus wipes out 99% of the population forcing the rest of Britain to hide in quarantine behind a huge wall similar to the Great Wall of China but surrounds Britain instead. The events of this movie then take place in 2035 when it seams the virus is back and is going to kill the rest of the population of Britain. The only chance of survival is when it seams there are survivors over the wall, so the government sends a one eyed babe (Rhona Mitra) over the wall to find the cure before it’s too late.
This is a very violent film and it seams the intent of the producers was to shock you with the violence and gore, to this extent the film works but just like the many attempts of ‘Zombie’ or ‘Killer Virus’ movies such as Resident Evil, 28 days later, dawn of the dead this movie doesn’t do much to stand out from the crowd.

Don’t expect much of a story just think of a violent hack and slash video game and this is what you will be watching with this movie. If you’re into these types of movies then you will enjoy it but if you’re just curious then I would recommend you leave this movie. Mytvtalk.com awards Doomsday 3 stars out of 5
