Hannah Montana The Movie

hannah_montana

Before you start to laugh at me, watching Hannah Montana wasn't my choice, I like to review movies but even this one was going too far, however when a younger sister pretty much drags you to the cinema what can you say.

Il keep this movie review relatively short as I guess most of you are not to bothered about seeing this movie either, but will more than likely be dragged into seeing it either by your kids or some other young member of your family.

What's it about?

The basic plot of this movie is that Miley/Hannah is the 'Rock/Pop' star sensation of the world, but secretly she lives a double life as a normal country girl and her secret is only shared by a couple of her closest friends and family. Miley is growing up however and is starting to want to become more of Hannah Montana than just plain Miley, her father however has other ideas. Billy Ray Cyrus notices that Miley is slipping away from her roots and that she needs to be brought back down to ground level rather than living with her head in the clouds. Billy Ray orders Miley to go back to her home town for her grandmothers birthday, Miley is upset with this as she wanted to go shopping to new York rather than going into the middle of nowhere for a couple of weeks and let's be honest who can blame her.

Welcome to Hicksville, population 320.

While in Hicksville Miley meets a real life Dirty Harry (cowboy or is it cow kid) who has a chiselled square jaw and pearly white teeth, it just so happens that this cowboy is also the same age as Miley and is employed by Miley's gran to look after the horses, mmm I wonder where this is going. Hicksville is in trouble, some tycoons have moved in next door and are looking to build a Mall on the towns empty land or over some of the houses in the town, to be honest I can't remember but hey at least Paul Blart or Ronnie Barnhardt could get a job there. The Rednecks from Hicksville fear the possibility of being brought into the 21st century though and oppose the idea and the only way to stop the mall being built is if the town can raise enough money to buy the land themselves.

Enter Hannah.

So naturally the best way to save the town is to have a concert performed by Hannah Montana in the middle of the town, and the people who will be paying to see the concert? You guessed it the town's people, something doesn't add up right? Maybe Hannah Montana could have just donated the money to the town and then we wouldn't have had to watch this movie, mmm sounds like a good idea, why didn't the writers or Disney think of that?

The death of Hannah Montana.

There's a couple of twists and turns along the way of the movie (when I say couple I mean one) that could possibly threaten the future of the pop sensation Hannah Montana, this twist and turn I'm talking about involves the reveal of someone's secret identity and a member of the paparazzi, yes you guessed right superman makes an appearance in the movie. The crowds of kids and their parents being brought along for the ride to the cinema would suggest that this certainly isn't the death of Hannah Montana though.

Movie review and Rating.

Overall Hannah Montana the movie is just ok, I mean it hasn't got the magic of some of the Animated Disney Movies or even the story for that matter, and doesn't deliver the entertainment that perhaps a High School musical would, having said that Hannah Montana has a massive following and I'm sure your kids will drag you to see the movie if they haven't already. Mytvtalk gives Hannah Montana 2 out of 5 Stars.
