Hellboy 2 Movie Review

Starring Ron Perlman, Selma Blair
Review by Mytvtalk.com

hellboy 2

The big red monster returns and this time packs in more imagination and visual style than the first Hellboy. Hellboy works for the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defence which aim to protect the world from supernatural threats. Also working for the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defence or BPRD are fellow agents Liz who happens to be hellboy’s girlfriend who has the ability to light on fire just like the human flam in the fantastic four, Abe an intelligent Fish/Man and their manager Tom.

However the public’s perception of Hellboy and his crew is not a very good one and their assigned a new manager to try tom improve the situation. Meanwhile this is happening an underworld prince defies his father and sister and wages war on the humans and sets of to release the Golden army to fight the war for him.

Just like Pans Labyrinth, Hellboy 2 is filled with disgusting looking creatures that offer some dry comedy, not to be outdone visually by Pans Labyrinth, Hellboy 2 has more effects and beautiful set pieces that are filled full of these terrifying creatures than both Pans Labyrinth and the original Hellboy. Del Toro doesn’t fall victim to the summer blockbuster hysteria however as he keeps the story well grounded by looking more in depth to the characters and their witty interactions.

Now for Mytvtalk.com honest rating

Perlman does well once again with his big and funny portrayal as the demon Hellboy and his relationships with both Liz and Abe blossom on screen, add the Prince And Princess into the equation and we have a movie that is visually appealing and worth while to watch. Mytvtalk awards Hellboy with 3 stars out of 5.
