Lesbian Vampire Killers

When I heard there was going to be a movie released that was being filmed in Wales UK, and that it starred welsh actors my first thought was 'please don't let it be true' however when I heard that it starred two of the actors out of Gavin and Stacey(James Corden, Mathew Horne) I wasn't as worried.

Lesbian vampire killers is set in a small hamlet somewhere in England. This hamlet is cursed however and on every female's 18th birthday they are doomed and turn into lesbians; however that's not the horrible part as they also turn into vampires. When two friends who have had enough of their lives decide to go on a hiking trip to this small town they think their luck is going to change for the better, and it sure does. When they arrive in the small hamlet they are offered free drinks in the hamlets local pub, they are also offered a free house for them to stay in which they co inhabit with some hot females, however their luck soon runs out when they start to be eaten one by one by lesbian vampires.

Lesbian vampire killers is nowhere as near as bad as I thought this movie was going to be. The plot is pretty simple but pretty funny, there's also a lot of eye candy provided by the lesbian vampires and the dialogue in this movie between James and Mathew is excellent on times. However Lesbian vampire killers isn't a great comedy either and is let down by the pace of the movie which sometimes is so slow it feels as if the movie as stopped. I believe lesbian vampire killers could have also cut some of the scenes out to help speed up the pacing of the movie, as it seemed the movie could have done without most of the vampire 'kiss' scenes, yes we know their lesbians but one of two kisses would have done the trick, we didn't need scenes 5 minutes long showing us their lesbians.

Overall this movie works as a comedy and does deliver some laughs on times, it's certainly not as bad as I thought it was going to be and could have been greatly improved with a quicker pace. I'm willing to give this movie a second chance, so hopefully we will see a sequel with improvements. Maybe we will see 'gay werewolf killers' or maybe not. I award Lesbian Vampire Killers a blood sucking 3 out of 5 stars.
