Tropic Thunder
King Tugg Speedman (Stiller), Kirk Lazarus (Downey) and jelly baby loving Jeff Portnoy (Black) are 3 of Hollywood's finest actors who team up to make a Vietnam action movie, but get more than what they are expecting when they are caught up in a real life ambush, however Speedman thinks its part of the script and goes along with it fighting their ambushers with blank weapons.
Some of this movie will offer some laughs, but not as many as you would expect from this strong cast. Most of the laughs will come when the film is actually parodying the film making process from moody actors to a director that hasn't got the slightest clue on what he's doing to an agent who makes impossible demands. From there on out however the laughs are few and far between this is a real shame as I was expecting more from this movie.
The only part of this movie that came a bit of a surprise to me was Tom Cruise's barely unrecognisable role in which will make you laugh. Other than the surprise performance by Cruise everything else in this movie just leads to being a mediocre film at best, and I can't see for the life of me why certain critics have praised this movie so much.
I award Tropic Thunder 3 out of 5 stars.
